There are enemies without and within; the Devil who is the god of this world is our enemy without and we have our own sinful nature that is our enemy within.
We can be strong in the power of Jesus Christ our Lord. This is why we are commanded to Be Strong in the Lord, and in the power of His Might.
Putting on the whole armor of God means we must:
• Stand in/on Truth. If we fail to bring truth to the battle, we pose no threat to the enemies.
• Live truth out in Righteousness.
• Be ready with our traction secured by Gospel truth.
• Defend with Faith against the enemy's attacks.
• Think about our Salvation and the Salvation of others.
• Apply God's Word in response to temptation to mortify the enemies without and within.
• And Pray for our brothers and sisters in the Battle.
