SALVATION

What is salvation?

The Story

Jesus Paid It All

Jesus Died For Our Sins

The first thing is to recognize that you are sinner. “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23

Our sin separates us from God, both in this life and in the life to come. “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23

God does not desire us to be separated from him, so He sent His Son to die for our sins. “But God commended His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

Jesus Was Buried

After dying on the cross, Christ was buried in another man’s tomb. “When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathaea, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus’ disciple: He went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered. And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed.” Matthew 27:57-60

Christ’s burial confirmed His physical death, but in death He conquered the one who had the power over death. “that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil.” Hebrews 2:14b

Jesus Rose From The Dead

Jesus was sinless, therefore death couldn’t hold Him and God raised Him from the dead. “Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that He should be holden of it.” Acts 2:24

Because Jesus lives, we can live through Him. “For if, when we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.” Romans 5:10

Our access to God and life is only thru Jesus. “Jesus said unto them, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by me’.” John 14:6

We have only acknowledge our need and turn to Jesus for salvation. “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Romans 10:9

A Prayer

Simply pray and ask God to forgive you of your sins. Tell Him you believe that Jesus is His Son, who lived, died on the cross, and rose from the grave on the 3rd day according to the Scriptures. Accept Jesus as the sacrifice for your sins and ask Him to come into your heart and be your Lord and Savior.

Romans 10:9&10 “…if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
